Maybe you’ve stumbled upon it while playing Sega’s Yakuza games, or maybe you’ve seen The Legend of Koizumi and said “What the heck is going on?” (Or maybe that’s everybody…)
Either way, now is your chance to learn! Come and join us for an introduction to Mahjong. We will be covering the rules for the Japanese variant, also known as ‘Riichi’ Mahjong, which has grown in popularity recently through online games such as Tenhou or Mahjong Soul.
We will start with the basics of play, followed by some simple introductory games.
This event is aimed at first-time players, but any veteran players of Riichi Mahjong are welcome to join us as well! Your experience can help teach the game to new players, as well as help to spread the popularity of Riichi Mahjong in Philadelphia.
We will provide the tiles and the mat, so all you need is yourself and a desire to learn! We hope that you can join us for this fun experience and look forward to seeing you there!
